What a day. We got quite a lot accomplished and now it's time for a rest. I got the last of the clothes either in Good Will bags or put away and the clothes hangers sorted. What a job.
Troy got all the branches and debris from his pruning extravaganza last week cleaned up and one load hauled up to the Stella property for a brush fire and hot dog roast later this week, weather permitting.
Dinner was leftover mushroom risotto, elk steaks and salad with a little more 14 Hands Hot to Trot.
And I have Pandora playing an awesome station-The Eagles. So many great songs from the 70's and 80's. Troy is working on his latest book, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It is quite a lengthy book and the print is tiny, but he is hooked!
Tomorrow is another day.

Home Again
Well, we are mostly moved in. After working my four-day stretch I came home and worked like a madwoman to get us unburied from the piles of boxes. My have we accumulated a lot of things in our 28 years.
But alas, I had been fighting some bug all weekend and after my all-out assault on Monday, Tuesday that bug kicked my butt! There was definitely a slow down, but progress had been made.
I went to the doctor on Wednesday, after staying home from work and was told I needed rest and steroids-yuck. Who has time for rest when their home is in such disarray? But rest I did, and medication I did take.
Now that I'm all hyped up on steroids and inhalers, the house is nearly all put away. And we had shepherd's pie with Irish soda bread for dinner last night.
Today, the grand baby!

Another beautiful day

Today we bought our house! We signed the final documents at 11:00 am and now we get to move again...for the last time? I guess I shouldn't say we since I leave tomorrow to go back to Everett to work my weekend. I will get to unpack though. Yay! I have been giving poor Troy instructions on what goes where when it gets unloaded. And Sherlock had better be in his kennel because we REALLY don't need him marking his new home.
We had another glorious spring-like day with the high temperature close to 60* So of course we had to ge to the lake again. How do you pass up time outside when the weather is like that???
First we had a celebration lunch at the Pancake House. Troy stuck with mostly healthy grilled chicken salad and a bowl of chili, topped with cheese and onions, of course. Me, I went totally into celebration mode and had coconut shrimp and fries! It came with a fabulous coconut and pineapple dipping sauce. Yum Yum!!!
Alexys got her first pet today! She won a goldfish at her carnival and went to pick it up today. She is apparently a fan of American Idol because she named her fish Pia.

what's new
So here it is, ten long months since my last post. Things have changed for us in this time.
We have become landlords with four rental properties, three of which are multifamily and located in Longview. The fourth is our home in Monroe.
We finally moved to Longview a month ago to be closer to family, and should be closing on a house in the next day or so. We are currently living in a cute two-bedroom appartment in our building. We haven't done appartment living in quite some time but it isn't as bad as I thought it might be. Very quiet except for the cats that serenade us some mornings. At this moment Maddie is perched on the back of the chair watching out the window for the offenders.
It is fabulous to be involved with all family activities again. We have missed that. We have dinner with the kids and the parents at least one night a week and sometimes twice. I will continue my job in Everett, commuting for my three days on and coming back the evening of my last shift to spend days off with the fam.
We have been spending quite a bit of time at "The ucky Lake Sacajawea." Alexys likes to go to the park and walk the goggies! I found this gorgeous picture of the lake on the Daily News website after the last snow. It is courtesy of Raena Spencer.
We also tried feeding the ducks, but that was a little frightening and got old quick for the little one. She does enjoy the swings and slides though!
